Intercultural competence and country analysis (ISCA)
Learn about the country and region you will be working in as part of your preparations for going abroad. Our “intercultural competence and country analysis” courses teach about the values and behaviours typical of your host country and region. They also help you reflect on your own cultural context and consciousness. Moreover, you will develop strategies for your work in your host country.
All our courses are led by experienced trainers for intercultural competence and country experts we recruit from a pool of more than 300 service providers. We would also be happy to organise tailor-made courses for you to suit your special interests and level of prior experience.
Training materials
Our training courses on “intercultural competence and country analysis” (ISCA) employ a wide range of informational and training materials:
- Our country information portal offers up-to-date information on your host country.
- Our “working in an intercultural context – understanding behaviour – acting appropriately” series explores intercultural topics about your host country prepared by our country experts.
- Our Centre for Didactics also offers a wide selection of materials and media on your host country and target region (books, films, magazines) along with materials on more comprehensive topics.
