As Germany’s northern-most federal state, Schleswig-Holstein is home to three large port cities that connect the second smallest federal state to both the North Sea riparian states and the Baltic Sea states. The Regional Centre Schleswig-Holstein works closely with companies in this largely rural region and their chambers and associations, building bridges to East and West.
The Regional Centre supports the state of Schleswig-Holstein in offering international advanced training programmes at home and abroad. We work closely with the Baltic states and India.
We focus on foreign trade and international relations, sustainable management and international vocational education. On behalf of the Schleswig-Holstein Ministry of Economics, we run trainee programmes for young professional from the Chinese partner province of Zhejiang. We also organise expert study programmes and study tours on topics such at catastrophe prevention and management, hospital management, wind energy and occupational health and safety.
Selected students from Baltic universities partnered with one of Schleswig-Holstein’s state universities can participate in our year-long study and trainee programme. We provide young Germans with information about the wide range of vocational qualification programmes Inwent offers abroad.
One world begins at home, in Schleswig-Holstein as well. This is why we advise initiatives and organisations from the communal One World programme on expanding sustainable strategies for community development cooperation. We are also closely linked with those active in development policy in our region and assist in setting up continuing projects between guests from abroad and non-governmental organisations in Schleswig-Holstein. As a partner and advisor to the North German Partnership to Support the UN Decade of Education for Sustainable Development, we represent the International Education – Learning from the South Division.
